Guhantara Visit

Guhantara Visit
It has been suddenly decided that the team would be taken for a relaxing Guhantara visit on a first Saturday which was supposed to be an off L. So until a week everyone’s google was on to read the reviews. I’m no exception and fortunately I even got a blog friend then.
The D day arrived and the team was little excited. Since, I have joined this office just couple of months ago, I actually didn’t have a proper companion who would enjoy to the core. Also, when you are a manager none of your team members would stick to you, LOL. So I will have to stick to people of my grade. Filling breakfast poori was served in the office. We started as usual late by an hour. To be honest, there was not much entertainment in the bus, except that the guys were screaming now and then. Our manager was very enthusiastic to sing and did wake up the crowd. I too joined her singing couple of numbers.
The road was good except that of the last 1km. The roads were very crooked, narrow and yes bumpy. There were lots of hoarding about Guhantara to excite guests. Finally, we reached the desserted place. There was one temporary Eiffel tower set up there at the entrance.
We directly entered the guha passage and started moving in until we reached the amphitheatre. When reached, I was really dumbstruck to see nearly 350-400 people already in and some group events were happening. Lots of noise. Then we were told at least 4-5 companies had already checked in. I was really disappointed since I expected a peaceful environment, though. To be honest, the ambience resembled like 400 corporate miners trapped underground (like in Chile). Just one change we paid to be trapped. J
Welcome drink was served. We were forced to finish it and leave the place in couple of minutes for some games in the lawn. We couldn’t even look at the waterfall or anything.
Then a guy took us around and showed a small swimming pool which can’t accommodate even 20. Pathetic!!
Then we reached the lawn and played few games in the scorching sun. We wanted to play some outdoor games. So paid a refundable deposit of 100 and got the shuttle bat & rackets. Hardly we could play due to the crowd and wind. One thing I could play to the fullest was the swing and slope (note – these are meant for kids). Then tried few shots of archery and it hit the target. I was very happy.
We checked out the Spa there. This is really good. And the packages were pretty ok little costly. We thought we will go for few treatments and was disappointed to know that the spa has limited accommodations and has been filled already. Very bad again. All the indoor games were occupied and people were waiting in queue for turns.
Finally, we hit the lunch floor. The best part was that the Food was awesome and met our expectations. We had varieties to choose from and the dessert was tooooo good. Then we aramse sat in the amphitheatre and relaxed as now we had place to sit.
Then started the rain dance, sorry dance floor for boozers. We could see all the guys danced from their heart. What else to say?? Few girls also tried to compete with them. Finally, the DJ played some item numbers and everyone broke their knuckles (the booze brought out their talents); few oldies broke their shy shell and made some step. That was nice to see.
We thought there is nothing worth we were waiting for, so made a move to the lawn and had the coffee and hot spicy bajjis. We then reached the entrance. Now I got the chance to write feedback. I wrote that the place was really overcrowded and we never enjoyed anything. Also suggested that the resort people should have certain bench mark and not allow people just for the sake of money.
By the time we left, the temporary Eiffel tower was also dismantled. We started from there by 5.15 and I hoped down on the way and reached home by 8.00pm. We felt that we have wasted a day.
So on a concluding note, I would suggest people to avoid this place on weekends. It might not be a better family outing too.
Guhantara not great L!!!
Catch you in the next blog.
Keep smiling. J

My blogspot

Finally, I have found an outlet to express my thoughts and expressions. Remarkably, this is my home to outpour my feelings and connect to the world. Liking to meet people with parallel thoughts.
I want my blog to reflect innovation, lifetime experiences, simple pleasures encountered, bitter grudges and useful info to friends ofcourse.

Likely to write more blogs sooner. Thoughtful scribes can be expected.
